A 26-year-old man is now in custody, charged with a murder late Tuesday evening.

Elyria Police were dispatched to Garden Street around 11:30 p.m. for a brawl that involved about 30 people.

When officers arrived, Davion Strupe, 24,  was found suffering from a gunshot wound and bleeding on the street.

Witnesses told police that the victim was shot while trying to avoid flying bullets.

After following multiple leads, Markus Martin, 26, was arrested Wednesday afternoon. He is charged with murder, kidnapping and aggravated burglary. He is being held in the Lorain County Jail without bond, pending a hearing in Elyria Municipal Court.

Police are looking for two other suspects, a 17-year-old male and 22-year-old Anthony Marcano. Both should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Elyria Police at (440) 323-3302.
