WAYNE CO., GA (WTOC) -

The driver suspected in a high speed chase through two counties faces charges in both places.

Wayne County investigators tell WTOC that deputies were on the lookout for a red Ford F-150 in connection with a burglary.

When they spotted the truck they attempted to stop it, but it took off at a high rate of speed. The truck led deputies on a chase on Dogwood Extension, Rayonier Road, and then U.S. Hwy 84.

The chase eventually went into Long County on onto U.S. Hwy. 301. Officers forced the truck off the road, where it struck a utility pole.

The driver, Matthew Zeeb, was flown to Savannah for medical treatment.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, traffic and other charges are pending. Long County Sheriff Craig Nobles said Zeeb will also face charges from his home county, including drug possession.
