A man and a woman allegedly robbed a Circle K convenience store located on Community road in Brunswick around 11:34 p.m. on Sunday, July 6th using a hammer. The suspecs took up to 200 dollars.

The woman, 40 year old, Tabbatha Sue Sturgill entered the business armed with a hammer which she struck on the counter several times before jumping across the counter and taking the contents inside the cash register.

The man, 39 year old, Christopher Dowdy threw a cigarette at the clerk when the clerk attempted to call the police.

The two robbers then fled the scene in a black GMC pickup truck. The clerk was not injured in the incident.

Glynn County Police officers immediately responded and posted a look out for the vehicle and subjects.

Glynn County Police Investigator Jimmie Palmer later observed the suspect vehicle parked in a wooded area on Habersham Street less than two blocks from the Circle K convenience store.

It appeared as if the offenders had placed tree branches on the tailgate in an attempt to conceal the black GMC truck from the road.

Investigator Palmer approached the vehicle and apprehended both subjects and took them into custody at that time.

The stolen money and the hammer were recovered by officers.

Both Tabbatha Sue Sturgill and Christopher Dowdy were arrested and charged with armed robbery.
