SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A Savannah man is in police custody and is expected in court Tuesday morning in connection to a suspected arson.

Savannah firefighters were called out to a structure fire at a home in the 600 block of West 40th Street just after 7:30 p.m. Monday. Upon arrival they found a shed on fire and were able to put out the flames before it spread to the home.

Savannah Fire investigators say they believe the fire was intentionally set using a fuel mixture.

Officials say 52-year-old Walter Flagg was arrested at the scene and charged with a single felony count of arson in the 2nd degree. He is currently at the Chatham County Detention Center.
