COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

A Columbia man is charged with unlawfully tattooing after the parents of a child who got sick from receiving a tattoo complained to police.

Columbia Police charged 20-year-old Bryce Napoleon Fashaw with two counts of unlawful tattooing. He is accused of tattooing two juveniles without the consent of their parents.

Police say the tattoos were done at Fashaw's apartment in the Harbison area.

Chief William Holbrook says, "The parents became aware of the tattoos when one the juveniles became ill as a result of the unlawful tattoo."

Holbrook says Fashaw turned himself in and was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

If convicted, he could get up to one year in prison and/or a fine of $2,500 for each count.
