ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A car crashed into a house during a chase in Anderson on Wednesday, Lt. David Cramer with Anderson Police confirmed to FOX Carolina.

According to Cramer, at about 3:15 p.m. an officer initiated a traffic stop on S. Fant Street, but the vehicle didn't stop.

He said the officer pursued the vehicle for a short time until the driver jumped out.

The vehicle then ran into a vacant house on Belton Street at the corner of Hall Street, Cramer said.

He said the vehicle hit the gas meter at the house. He said Piedmont Natural Gas was notified.

The driver was captured and charged with not having a driver's licence and failure to stop for blue lights, Cramer said.

Highway Patrol was investigating the crash.
