Speak Out Editorial - 07/10/14

Every 10 days in the U.S., a child dies from being left in a hot car. Already this year we've lost 13 children to heat stroke   --  and the hottest part of summer is still ahead.  While there are some of these tragedies we can't do anything about…let's be mindful of the ones we can.

For parents who are only going in the store for a minute…a closed car is no place for your child.

For people who notice something disturbing…speak out, call authorities…if need be take action.

The governor's office has started a campaign called look again to remind drivers to check the car seat anytime they get out of their vehicle just to be sure.

38 children die every year from heatstroke after being left alone in a car.

That number needs to be zero.
