Peach fest disappoints some party goers

TYBEE ISLAND, GA (WTOC) -

Some folks on Tybee Island were disappointed about the continuation of Orange Crush, called Peach Fest because it was not what they were expecting.

Many believe the rain probably kept folks from coming to the beach and partying.

Tybee officials weren't sure what to expect this weekend which is why there were extra patrols along the beach. This is the first year for Peach Fest, it was advertised all over social media as a huge beach party much like the annual Orange Crush.

WTOC found some folks who came to Tybee who were pretty bummed about the weather and believe there weren't enough people who knew about Peach Fest.

"I think it should just stay with Orange Crush because honestly you can't really compete with it. Everyone knows Orange Crush, it's what a lot of people know about Savannah," said Tremayne Trawick of Savannah.

Folks are hoping the weather clears up because Peach Fest goes through Sunday so if you're heading to Tybee, expect possible traffic delays and crowds.
