How to help clean up the homeless camp in Savannah

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Volunteers pitched in to clean up the homeless camp at the intersection of General McIntosh Boulevard and President's Street.

The city helped relocate the 90 folks who lived at this camp. The land will now be used as the staging area for a new drainage project. But, before the city can start, volunteers are helping clean up all the trash left behind.

"It's a lot of trash that they have left behind, and it's dirty, and they seem to live that life and be happy," said Audrey and Abby Zimlich, volunteers.

There is still plenty to clean up. If you would like to help, contact the Homeless Authority.
