More than 100 residents, school officials and employees joined Beaufort County School Superintendent Jeffery Moss for the first annual Swinging with Superintendent Golf Tournament.
The money raised from the tournament will go to the new B-3 Scholarship that will ensure that any qualified Beaufort County High School student can attend two years of college tuition free.
"It's important, anytime you have an opportunity to get students a chance to do something beyond high school, to make them more globally competitive, this is something that we're very passionate about here in Beaufort County," said Chief Student Services Officer Dr. Gregory McCord. "Our mottos is to help kids realize their potential."
The district raised $135,000 for the scholarship at the sold out event.
