Glennville man wanted for aggravated assault arrested in Valdosta

GLENNVILLE, GA (WTOC) -

A Glennville man wanted for aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon was arrested on Tuesday in Valdosta by the Macon Office of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Darren Johnson, 42, was wanted by the Glennville Police Dept. for an incident that happened on July 10. Johnson was also wanted by the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles for a parole violation. Johnson was originally on parole for distribution of cocaine.

An investigation by the Savannah Office of the U.S. Marshals Service showed that Johnson was possibly in Valdosta. The information was forwarded to the Macon Office. He was arrested without incident and taken to the Lowndes County Jail to await transportation back to Tattnall County.
