Metro police search for man charged with murder, aggravated assault

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police are searching for a Savannah man charged with murder and aggravated assault.

Officials say Leonardo Lamont "Scoochie" Anderson, 38, has been charged with the Friday night shootings of two men in the 1200 block of Seiler Avenue that left one man dead and a second man with serious injuries.

Arkeen Abron, 29, and Showkey Barnes, 37, were each transported to Memorial University Medical Center after the shootings. Abron was pronounced dead.

Anderson recently lived in the 200 block of East 41st Street and is known to frequent the Waters Avenue Corridor and West Savannah areas. He is described as a black male standing 5-foot-8 and weighing about 190 pounds with short hair.

He has an extensive criminal background, serving a 10-year sentence from 1998-2008 for robbery, kidnapping and aggravated assault.

Anderson should be considered armed and dangerous.
