Lyons insurance agent wanted for fraud surrenders to police

TOOMBS CO., GA (WTOC) -

Pamela Blount, one of two women wanted for insurance fraud in Toombs County, surrendered to police on Thursday.

Investigators said Blount and Linda Smith of LLS Insurance in Lyons are accused of misappropriating at least $10,000 of customer money.

The business was raided back in February.

Smith has yet to turn herself in.

    Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office are investigating after two gunshot victims were taken to a Beaufort County hospital on Saturday afternoon.  The two involved were at a home on Mackarel Drive and Marshland Road when deputies say they believe a suspect(s) fired a gun outside of the residence, striking the women.  Paramedics from the Hilton Head Island Rescue responded to treat and transport the women to a nearby hospital for further treatment.  ...More >>

    Those who spent time in downtown Savannah Saturday probably saw a lot of pink. The 2018 Komen Savannah Race for the Cure was held in Ellis Square. It's a race that raises money to support breast cancer prevention and treatment. Breast cancer survivors from all over joined together for the annual race.
