Liberty County teacher honored at GACTE Conference

LIBERTY CO., GA (WTOC) -

13 educators from the Liberty County educators attended the 67th annual Georgia Association for Career and Technical Education Summer Leadership Conference and Career Expo held July 13th through 16th in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dr. Jana Shields, Early Childhood Education teacher at Liberty County High was honored along with 21 other teachers at the GACTE conference.

Shields received the Carl Perkins Outstanding Service Award which recognizes teachers who have displayed a dedication of career technical education's impact on the lives of individuals and communities.

She has been a teacher for 13 years raising money for the Suzie Q. Foundation of Hinesville and Children's Miracle Network.
