Three Savannah youngsters turned the tables on a man who attacked their mother last night, and ended up sending him to the hospital. It wasn't the perfect start to Thanksgiving vacation for the family. Just after midnight, they say their mom was attacked by an ex-con, ex-boyfriend with a knife. Her three kids came to the rescue.

Janice Brown's unexpected visitor at her Waters Avenue home was old boyfriend Gary Moore, fresh out of jail. Her family says Moore had a crazy look in his eye and was wielding a knife.

Janice's family says Moore had stabbed their mom in the throat with a kitchen knife. Her 21 year-old daughter Lakesha, who is pregnant, saw what happened. She tackled Moore to the ground and slammed his head into the cement. While Lakesha jumped on top of him, she called for her little brothers, 14-year-old Lucius and 13-year-old Stephon to get a knife. They say they stabbed and beat up Moore until police could arrive.

When Moore came to, he was on his way to the hospital. When he's released, he will likely be charged with aggravated battery and cruelty to children for choking Janice's two-year-old grandson.

The kids declined to go on camera. We spoke with Janice in the hospital. She has a hard time talking because of injuries to her throat, but says she feels better, but not great. As for Gary Moore, he's listed in good condition at the hospital.

Janice's kids aren't sure if they will have Thanksgiving dinner. They'll wait until Mom gets home.
