SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are investigating a triple shooting that happened in East Savannah Sunday night and left three men injured.

Police responded just before 8 p.m. to 55th Street between Ash and Cedar streets.

Craig Xavier Jackson Jr., 31, of Savannah, Gary Campbell, 31 of Brunswick, and Joseph Heyward, of Savannah each were transported to Memorial University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

This makes the fifteenth shooting to take place in Savannah in about two weeks.

"Obviously, everybody's concerned about this, and it kind of shows what is going on, not just this community, but nationwide and worldwide, and this isn't something that a police department can solve on its own, this is something the entire community's got to work with," stated Julian Miller, Savannah-Chatham Metro spokesman.

The preliminary investigation disclosed two groups of males agreed to meet at a residence. The meeting subsequently resulted in gunfire that injured the three members of one group.

Right now, police are asking the public for help in solving this case. They ask that anyone who knows anything about what may have happened to please come forward with that information by calling CrimeStoppers at 912.234.2020 to leave an anonymous tip.
