Bulloch County teachers prepare for students' return

BULLOCH CO., GA (WTOC) -

Hearts are breaking in Bulloch County because youngsters only have a few more days left of summer vacation.

Students head back to school on Friday. Teachers met on Tuesday to put the finishing touches on their classrooms in anticipation of the students' return.

The classrooms may be empty now, but come Friday they will be filled with students for the first day of the 2014-2014 school year.

Teachers have been getting ready for the new school year, and many have been busy rearranging their classrooms, decorating bulletin boards and hanging posters on the walls.

Everything has to be ready for Open House on Wednesday, when parents and students come to meet their teachers for the first time.

"It's a good chance for the kids to come and meet their teachers, get comfortable," said first grade teacher Rebekah Bentley. "They can see their classroom, see where they are going to sit."

"Our whole team is a circus theme, we're doing a circus theme," said kindergarten teacher Alea Landers. "It makes it very inviting for the parents and the families to come in."
