Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police meet for annual conference in Savannah

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police held its Summer Training Conference in Savannah.

Kim Schlau served as a guest speaker at the conference, discussing safe driving. She started giving her presentation around the U.S. after her two teen daughters were killed in a crash caused by an Illinois Trooper who was driving 126 miles per hour while talking on his cell phone.

"Although speed is an important part of their job, sometimes it's not and especially not be distracted while they're in a responsive pursuit situation," said Schlau.

The Summer Training conference is one of the biggest held annually.
