It is the busiest shopping day of the year as people all over head to the stores for the after-Thanksgiving bargains. This was the scene at the new Target store at Savannah Mall this morning. Hundreds of people got in line to await the 6am opening.
After the manager gave out a few suggestions and warnings, the clock struck six and the huge crowd was allowed inside the store. Many had been standing in the cold for hours.
Retailers say this day--also called Black Friday--is where shoppers can find some of the best deals of the season. And they say they expect to make half of their annual receipts during this shopping season.
Stores all over the Coastal Empire and Low Country can expect similar scenes today.
