Professor teams up with students to shoot film in Savannah

A professor and students from SCAD, as well as students from the Savannah Arts Academy, teamed up this weekend to shoot a film.

They were shooting at the "Hello Again" shop next to Baker's Pride Bakery on DeRenne on Sunday. The film called "The Woman" was written by 15-year-old Isabella Dobbins, from Savannah Arts Academy. She started writing it back in January, and got together with a Cinematographer/professor from SCAD to bring her idea to fruition.

"This gives them experience that they are not going to get until later, when they are in film school, or something like this. So, this is a really good chance for them to experience what it is like to be on a set," said Paul "Bear" Brown, Cinematographer, SCAD professor.

"It is really awesome, because it's such a opportunity that I am able to do this, because, how many kids get to write scripts and have them be filmed by people who are really good at what they do," said Isabella Dobbins, Director/Writer, Savannah Arts Academy student.

After shooting wraps up, they will go into post production, where they will edit everything together. They then hope to enter the fnished film into film festivals.
