Cruise ship "Escapade" heads back to open water

TYBEE ISLAND, GA (WTOC) -

The casino ship "The Escapade" was cruising on open waters again on Wednesday night.

This is the first time the casino cruise ship has headed out to open water since grounding on a sandbar off the coast of Tybee Island last month, stranding more than 100 people for a day. Folks did not seem to be bothered by the troubles surrounding the voyage.

"They told me that the cruise got stuck one time, and pretty much now, we don't really care, because we worry about the money you know. We just want to stay on the cruise ship for as long as possible; just gotta get enough money. If it gets stuck, it will be like a mini vacation," said Kevin Vo, passenger.

The Escapade will run casino cruises every night this week.  They are free from now until Sunday, but you must bring valid identification to board.
