RAFAH, GAZA STRIP (CNN) - In the southern Gaza town of Rafah on the border with Egypt, families have been very busy over the past few days, burying the dead.

More than 1,000 Palestinians and dozens of Israelis have died in the fighting.

During a recent cease-fire, Gazans were filling new graves and finding bodies, some that have been in the open for weeks.

And more graves have been dug in anticipation of more bodies to be discovered.
