Savannah-Chatham police say alcohol was a factor in a one-car wreck that left a nine-month-old baby in critical condition. It happened early Sunday morning on Whitfield Avenue, near the construction site for the future Truman Parkway interchange.
The vehicle rolled into a ditch and all five people inside were thrown out.
The baby was found unconscious under water. The baby's mother and another passenger are in a hospital with spinal injuries. Two teens were treated and released.
Police say no one was wearing a seatbelt.
