Effingham County High School teacher promoted to Chief Master Sergeant

EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

Senior Master Sergeant Henry Dickerson, a teacher in Effingham County, has earned promotion to the highest level of Non Commissioned Officers, Chief Master Sergeant.

Dickerson has been part of the Air National Guard for 30 years and he currently serves with the 165th Air National Guard.

Chief Dickerson serves as the Chief of Safety for Savannah's Combat Readiness Training Center which is an element of the Georgia Air National Guard.

Dickerson teaches Career Technical Education in Law and Justice at Effingham High School.

He is also assistant golf coach and advises the ECHS Chapter of Skills USA.

When it comes to the military Dickerson is responsible for training CRTC managers, supervisors, and employees in identifying, evaluating, and controlling work place hazards.

His duties as Chief Master Sergeant include investigating mishaps that may occur on or off duty and advising commanders on safety related matters in order to prevent future mishaps.

Chief Master Sergeant Dickerson has been in the Georgia Air National Guard since May 24th, 1984.
