(CNN) - Amazon and publishing house Hachette are locked in a book battle.
For months, the two have been fighting over how Amazon prices some of its products. The retail giant said since e-books are less expensive to produce and have no resale value, it should pay less for them.
Hachette countered that Amazon is not properly pricing the books. Both sides encouraged readers to write the CEO of the other to help end the standoff.
Writers are also caught in the middle. One authors group took out a two-page ad in the New York Times on Sunday, saying, "This is no way to treat a business partner."
