Fort Stewart change of command

FORT STEWART (WTOC) -

There's a new Garrison Command Sergeant Major at Fort Stewart. On Friday, Command Sergeant Major Myron Lewis was welcomed during an Assumption of Responsibility ceremony.

CSM Lewis joined the Army back in 1987, and has a background as a military police officer.

"This is a great undertaking for me, every Command Sergeant Major wants to make it the Brigade level but what makes it more advantageous is being able to support soldiers families and civilians of an Army installation the meaning of sustainment stability and support mean a lot to me because by trade, I am a military policeman, so we are always protecting and serving. So service is always a good thing that I like to do and this position does it for me," he said.

CSM Lewis is also a husband, and a father to five children with four of them serving in the military.
