GDOT continues management of roadside vegetation along I-16 - WTOC-TV: Savannah, Beaufort, SC, News, Weather & Sports

As part of its integrated roadside vegetation management program, Georgia DOT maintenance crews will work on trimming overgrown vegetation starting Tuesday.

This process is scheduled to continue for the next few weeks at 164A and 164B on I-16 in Savannah.

Work will proceed Monday through Thursday between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. until the work is completed.

Ramp closures are a necessity for this work to be completed to enhance driver visibility and road safety.

This week, GDOT maintenance crews will install a ramp closure on I-16 eastbound Exit 164A, weather permitting.

During the 164A eastbound ramp closure, motorists traveling eastbound on I-16 are advised to take 164B, then I-516 Exit 6/Gwinnett Street, turn left on Gwinnett Street, and turn right on to ramp to travel on I-516 East.
