Storm knocks out power in Southside Savannah

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Around 1 p.m. on Tuesday a storm rolled through Savannah's Southside and knocked out power in the Paradise Park subdivision.

Neighbors said they're still in the dark on Tuesday night.

Marguerite Springfield and her children had to be creative to beat the heat and pass the time.

"We got out our camping gear, we're using these to try to get our homework done and make our way around the house so we won't fall over," said Springfield.

She said the last time she called Georgia Power, she was told the power wouldn't be back on until 6 a.m. Outage maps show just a handful of homes still without power.
