SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The First Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment held an official retirement ceremony on Wednesday in honor of Sgt. 1st Class Cory Remsburg who was once stationed at Hunter Army Airfield.

Remsburg suffered a traumatic brain injury after an IED explosion during his 10th deployment in 2009. He has made remarkable progress, and you might remember that he received a standing ovation at President Barack Obama's State of the Union Address, and he has no plans of slowing down.

"One of the Ranger attributes is to finish the mission, and Cory knows part of the mission is his own recovery," said Craig Remsburg, Cory's father. "He will continue contributing."

Remsburg has several local, state and national events lined up. He said he wants to inspire others to keep pushing on.
