Vanderburgh Co. officials vote Thursday on new Walmart

VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE) -

The Vanderburgh County Board of Zoning is scheduled to vote on Walmart's request to build a new super center on the north side of Evansville.

The 31-acre property just off State Road 57 and Boonville-New Harmony Rd. is already zoned for commercial use.

Walmart has also requested to add a gas station and four out-lots, or businesses.

People living nearby are hoping the board denies those requests.

That meeting starts at 4 p.m. at the Civic Center.

It's open to the public.
