Teenage serial rapist pleads guilty for sexual assaults, gets 3 life sentences

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah teenager, Ramon Lewis, pleaded guilty on Friday in Chatham County Superior Court in relation to a series of sex crimes committed in 2011 in East Savannah.

As part of the negotiated plea, Lewis will receive three concurrent life sentences. He will serve 30 years before becoming eligible for parole.

Lewis, who was 16 at the of the crimes, was charged as an adult with rape, aggravated sodomy, aggravated sexual battery, four counts of burglary and three counts of criminal attempt to commit rape.

The charges stem from four separate incidents in November and December 2011. The victims were all adults who were significantly older than the defendant.

According to the Rape Crisis Center, it's the fact that these victim's were brave enough to report the crime that justice could be served.

"I encourage victims of sexual assault, go ahead and make the report. At least you've got it done then. If you decide you want to prosecute then you prosecute. If you dont, thats your choice, but it's very difficult later when the evidence isnt there and its a he said she said  type thing," Ron Roberts said.
