Six Flags announces 12th roller coaster, tallest water slide for 2015

ATLANTA (CBS46) -

Roller coaster lovers will soon have one more to check out at Six Flags Over Georgia.

The amusement park announced Thursday they're building a new roller coaster called "The Joker Chaos Coaster." It is set to open in late spring 2015.

The roller coaster will rocket riders up seven stories high, then glide both backward and forward through a series of loops. There will also be an upside down roll suspended 72 feet high in the air.

Six Flags is also adding "Harley Quinn Spinsanity" to its rides roster. This attraction will send riders spinning, twisting and rolling around.

Both rides are new additions to the park's Gotham City area.

"We are excited to introduce two new high-thrill attractions to our collection of world-class coasters at the park," said Six Flags Atlanta Properties park president Dale Kaetzel. "Gotham City is one of the park's most iconic and popular areas and this multi-million dollar expansion will help create a day full of fun and exciting memories for all of our thrill seekers and their families."

Those who like wet and wild rides have something new to look forward to as well.

Six Flags White Water is adding the "Dive Bomber," a 10-story tall water slide. When it opens in 2015, it will be the tallest water slide ever built at the water park.

The attraction will have an enclosed, clear capsule with a trap door that drops riders down at a 90-degree drop. The ride towers at more than 100 feet and reaches speeds of more than 40 miles per hour.
