DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

DeKalb County police are trying to track down a house guest who went missing during a home invasion-style robbery early Thursday morning near southeast Atlanta.

It happened between midnight and 1 a.m. at a home on Charleston Pointe near I-20 off Fayetteville Road.

The homeowner said that a man with a gun burst through his front door and hit him in the face with his gun. The man then forced the homeowner and his guest to the floor and tied them up with scarves.

The homeowner, who didn't want to be identified, said he could hear several other people enter the home. They stole several electronic items and other valuables and demanded the homeowner's debit card PIN. He gave them a fake one, and they left. They later returned, angry that they weren't able to retrieve cash from an ATM and then left again.

At some point, the house guest, whom the homeowner had only known for a couple of months, went missing. The homeowner said he now wonders if his guest was somehow involved in the robbery.

DeKalb County police would only say that investigators are trying to determine the role the house guest played. His car remained in the driveway of the home. Police had it towed at about 4 a.m.
