Titans, Vandy, Live on the Green create traffic issues

Downtown Nashville saw lots of extra traffic Thursday night as approximately 80,000 people headed downtown for the Titans final preseason game and Live on the Green.

The Woodland Street bridge closed at 4:30 p.m. to regular traffic and was only open to pedestrians and shuttle buses.

Church Street was closed at First, Second and Third avenues North. Drivers can take Broadway to Rosa L. Parks to get around.

There was a lot of congestion at James Robertson Parkway. Drivers were advised to take Third Avenue North to the Metro Center exchange.

Titans fans heading to the game weren't able to access state employee lots for parking until around 5 p.m. when the workers leave.

The Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge was open to east and westbound traffic until the beginning of the fourth quarter. Then, all lanes will head westbound.

Adding to traffic issues in the area, Vanderbilt kicks off its season tonight in West End against Temple.

Live on the Green began at 5 p.m., the Titans kicked off at 7 p.m. and Vanderbilt's game began at 8:15 p.m.
