A Savannah man is recovering in the hospital after a drive-by shooting on the city's east side Wednesday night.
Detectives tell WTOC the shooting happened about 6:15 PM. Investigators say a car pulled up to a man walking on Mississippi Avenue near Ohio Avenue. Someone in the car pulled and gun and opened fire and the man was hit at least once. An ambulance rushed the injured man to Memorial Health and into emergency surgery while police sealed off the scene.
Police say the victim is expected to recover. The man's name has not yet been released. Detectives hope to interview him today. Police are looking for a 2000 model car with a blue or green paint job and four suspects.
Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 234-2020. A reward is being offered.
