Posted: Updated:
LIBERTY CO., GA (WTOC) -

Congratulations to Liberty County Superintendent Dr. Vayla S. Lee!

Georgia Governor Nathan Deal swore here in to the State Council of the Military Interstate Children's Compact Commission.

Dr, Lee will join Col. Kevin Gregory, the Garrison Commander of Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield and Greg Cooke, school liaison officer if Fort Stewart on the commission.

The State Council consists of members appointed by the governor, and school liaison officers from all school systems located near Georgia's military installations. It's designed to remove barriers to educational success imposed on children of military families because of their parents' frequent moves and deployments.
