A 59-year-old woman was arrested Monday and charged in the shooting death of her husband, according to the North Augusta Department of Public Safety.
Deborah Morris is charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, Lt. Tim Thornton said.
An officer responded to a shooting in the 600 block of West Woodlawn Avenue around noon Monday, according to an incident report.
The officer found Deborah Morris' husband, 63-year-old Stephen Morris, lying on a bed with a gunshot wound to the head, according to an incident report.
When the officer asked Debra Morris if she found her husband like that, she told him, "I actually did it," according to the report. She told the officer the gun was in the kitchen and said that she and her husband were having marital problems.
Deborah Morris is being held at the Aiken County Detention Center.
