Savannah State on-campus tobacco ban takes effect Sept. 1

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

When students return to class at Savannah State University on Tuesday, they will no longer be allowed to use tobacco on campus.

On Monday the tobacco free ban goes into place, and under the ban all tobacco products, including smoking devises that use tobacco like hookahs and electric cigarettes, will no longer be allowed on campus.

The University System of Georgia is requiring all institutions to be tobacco free by October 1.
