TAYLORS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville County deputies said a man was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound after a domestic disturbance on Monday.

According to deputy Drew Pinciaro, around 8:40 p.m. deputies responded to a condo on Stallings Road when a female called 911 following a verbal altercation in the parking lot.

The woman reported the man got into his car and reached into his glovebox, where she knew he kept a gun, according to Pinciaro.

When deputies arrived, they found the man standing on the front porch of the condo, Pinciaro said.

He said the man immediately ran inside and locked the doors, and SWAT was called to the scene.

Pinciaro said they attempted to make contact with the man with no results. He said SWAT was able to look in through a window and saw the man lying on the floor dead from what appeared to be a self inflicted gunshot wound.

Pinciaro said it is an active investigation.

The man's name has not been released at this time.
