SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Thanks to Wells Fargo, several nonprofits in Savannah will be able to continue doing what they do best.
The bank handed out checks for $1,000 to 19 local nonprofits during a community breakfast at Woodville-Tompkins Career High School on Wednesday.
It was all part of the bank's Days of Giving program, which is in its fifth year. Girls on the Run, Wishes 4 Me and Small Business Assistance Corp are just a few of the groups chosen.
“The organizations were selected by our team members who are in the communities,” said Olga Lopez, area president for Wells Fargo. “Many team members selected the organizations because they have been part of volunteerism in the local community as well. Some team members may have participated or benefited from the community, so great opportunities for our team members to get involved to support great causes that strengthen our community.”
Similar events are taking place this fall across Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi.
