Four Marine Recruits Cleared After Initial Screening Indicated Tuberculosis

Tuberculosis isn't something we hear a lot about, but on Parris Island, South Carolina, four Marine recruits tested positive in an initial screening. That's after the base conducted a tuberculosis screening of over 120 recruits and training staff who were exposed to a former recruit who was later hospitalized in California with the disease.

The four affected recruits graduated from boot camp on Friday but had to remain on the base until they were given further tests, which have now cleared the recruits.
