Qualifying Citizens Get Flu Shots

Here's something we haven't seen in this area for a while: flu shots. For months, hundreds of Chatham County residents have been on a waiting list to get the flu shot, and today they were able to get them at the Georgia Armory. But Chatham County officials say these vaccines aren't for everyone, just those who are at a high risk

"Young children, pregnant young women with chronic disease, or anyone with a chronic disease, diabetes, hepatitis," according to Betty Dixon with the Coastal Health District.

The Chatham County Health Department will also be giving out flu shots tomorrow at the Georgia Armory on Eisenhower Drive at 1pm. Vaccines will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis. Again these shots are only for those who qualify to get the vaccine.
