Cops, Retailer Team Up to Cheer Sick Kids

Just about everybody wants to be home for the holidays, or at least with friends and family. And that's tough on sick kids. But in Statesboro, there's a team effort to brighten the holidays. Statesboro police and Wal-Mart are sharing some holiday spirit with kids stuck in the hospital over the holiday, dropping off a little bit of everything.

"This year, we received applications from 350 families and we distributed over 3,000 toys this time, so we think we had an incredible year," said Wal-Mart's Steve Champion.

These guys don't miss a trick. They dropped off more toys just in case any kids have to go to the hospital between now and Christmas, and a little extra for the hospital playroom.
