Special Olympics Tennis Championship returns to HHI


The Special Olympics North America Tennis Championship is returning to Hilton Head Island for the 15th year. 

There will be 126 athletes from all over, including Colorado, Florida, Massachusetts, Louisiana, Illinois, and South Carolina, competing in the three-day event. 

Several levels of competition will be featured. The championship will be at the Van Der Meer Shipyard Racquet Club from Thursday, Nov. 6, to Saturday, Nov. 8. 

Here is a list of the different events:

-Thursday, Nov. 6: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Divisioning (Levels 1-5)

-Friday, Nov. 7: 7:45 a.m: Singles Competition (Levels 2, 4, 5)

-Saturday, Nov. 8: 8 a.m.: Singles (Level 1) and Doubles Competition
