If you've stepped outside today, you know it's kind of chilly out there. But a local business in Beaufort, South Carolina, is taking steps to make sure everyone is warm this winter.
Furniture Warehouse Design Gallery is collecting coats this year as part of its 14th annual coat drive, an effort that's responsible for providing over 17,000 coats to the needy in Beaufort County.
"It gives us a sense of giving back to the community," said owner Larry Mark. "We know that the coats are going to go to good use. A lot of them are for young children that otherwise would not have coats."
After the coats are collected, Tucker Dry Cleaning on Lady's Island cleans them and sends them to local charities. If you have some extra coats lying around collecting dust, here's a list of drop-off locations throughout Beaufort County:
Furniture Warehouse Design Gallery (Hwy 170 - Beaufort)
Bedsmart (Carteret Street - Beaufort)
The Patio Shop (Hwy 278 - Bluffton)
Lew's Men Shop (Hilton Head Island)
