Savings experts believe they have figured out exactly which day to buy your Christmas gifts and get the lowest price.
Kyle James runs RatherBeShopping.com, a site that compiles deals and coupon codes. He analyzed sales data from the past five years to find out the exact day you can expect the lowest price.
Now is the best time to buy a TV, with the lowest prices falling between Friday and Sunday, according to James. Major retailers have deals with up to 30 to 40 percent off popular brands, though if you can wait prices will drop even more in late January because of the Super Bowl and new model releases.
Sunday is the best day to shop for the gamer in your life, if you missed the Black Friday deals. Sites like Gamestop and Newegg offer games and systems with discounts starting around 35 percent and will continue for two to three days.
Monday is your day for cheaper laptops. Dell, Costco, Amazon and Walmart have some of the best prices of the year. Monday is also the day for specialty gifts, as well.
"We see really good coupons from Shutterfly, Snapfish, Red Envelope and Personal Creations," said James.
Tuesday is the best day, if you plan on buying toys or tools.
"They're kind of feeling the pinch of trying to take advantage of those last minute dollars," James explained.
For everything else, like apparel and household items, James suggests taking advantage of Thursday, which is free shipping day.
"They'll have coupon codes and sitewide offers that you can stack on top of the free shipping making Dec. 18 a great day to shop," according to James.
If you buy your gifts and find a cheaper price afterward, several large retailers will refund you the difference if it's within their time range. A list of stores is on RatherBeShopping.com
