POOLER, GA (WTOC) - One Savannah student got the surprise of a lifetime during a school program on Friday.
Chief Petty Officer Ian Alphonse surprised his son, Jaden, on Friday at West Chatham Middle School during their multicultural feast. This year's theme was Giving Love to Our Selfless Soldiers.
The reunited father and son said they're excited to be together over the holidays.
“It's an honor to be back home spending time with my kids during the holiday season, which is actually the best time to be home,” said Alphonse. “Christmas, New Years and all that good stuff, so it's just really good being home, seeing American faces again.”
There were also members from the Salvation Army and Toys for Tots at the program to receive food and gifts donated by students and staff at West Chatham Middle.
