Skull May Be That of Drowning Victim

A skull has been found on Long Island near Tybee. Investigators think it could be the remains of a man who drowned last summer.

In June, WTOC first brought you the story of Kent Sandefur. Sandefur was on a church retreat with his family when he noticed a six-year-old boy, his preacher's son, struggling out in the surf. He dove in and managed to save the child, but Sandefur drowned.

Police investigators sent the skull to the crime lab for dental and DNA tests to determine if it is indeed Sandefur.
