SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - This weekend Wormsloe State Historic Site announced its winners for the 2014 Volunteer Awards.

15 year old James Sheffield came in first place receiving the Volunteer Of The Year Award after committing to a total 222 hours.

He also earned the Volunteer Service Award, Expeditionary Forces after supporting several Parks in Georgia on numerous occasions.

An 18 year old named Jeremiah Simpson received the Expeditionary Forces Award and Special Projects Award for building a storage shed in the Colonial Life Area.

Simpson also received the Volunteer Service Award committing to a total of 199 hours.

21 year old David "Zulu" Stewart earned the Volunteer Service Award as well, committing to 34 hours in support of events.

Wormsloe State Historic Site would like to thank all its annual and semi-annual volunteers saying without them their programs and events would not be so spectacular.
