Missing Woman Found, Charged

Investigators on the scene of the disappearance. Investigators on the scene of the disappearance.

A Garden City woman disappeared early this morning, leaving her three-year-old son home alone. Investigators with the Garden City Police Department treated this as a very serious case and focused all of their attention today on finding her.

They did find 24-year-old Mary Kiser this afternoon at a fast food restaurant, and she's in big trouble with police.

She vanished overnight from her home on Dean Forest Road. She left behind her three-year-old son, her car, her purse--everything but her cell phone.

"It just don't make sense to me," said her mother, Hope Kiser.

Her parents are staying in a camper in the front yard. They last saw Mary around 8:30pm last night. "She was sweeping the floor last night, you don't come in sweep the floor and then leave," said Hope.

Mary's parent knew she was missing when her dad went into the house to take her to work around 5:30am this morning. When she wasn't there, they immediately got police involved.

All day police searched the house and surrounding area for clues. They questioned her ex-boyfriend James Driggers. He's also the little boy's father and has a history of violence.

Police found Mary Kiser this afternoon at the Arby's in Garden City.

Right now, police have more questions than answers about her disappearance.

Police have learned that no one, including Mary's ex-boyfriend, had anything to do with her disappearance. They say she left her son alone in the house at 11pm last night to meet friends at a hotel.

Investigators say she was smoking crack and partying with them, then her friends dropped her off at Arby's this afternoon.

Police have charged Mary Kiser with contributing to the delinquency and deprivation of a minor. She is being held in the Chatham County jail.
